Yesterday, the P7s shared the essential ingredients of a good recipe. We collated their ideas on the class whiteboard. P7 demonstrated a good understanding of how recipes are structured!
However, the pupils felt less confident about identifying “bossy verbs” so they spent some time identifying examples from food magazine recipes.
Each pair/trio then contributed several items to our whole class list. They compiled a list of over 100 examples! However, we agreed to revisit this, as sometimes they had highlighted adverbs and conjunctions instead.
Can the P7s identify “bossy verbs” in family recipe books or cookery websites at home?
